1. The best views are from the bluff at the vista point. Look for a volunteer guide to assist you.
2. Dogs must be kept on leash.
3. Marine mammals are protected by federal law. It is against the law for unauthorized people to touch or disturb them in any way. This law protects both the elephant seals - and humans!
4. Park only in designated parking spaces, not on the highway shoulder
5. Do not attempt to place adults or children (especially small children!) next to the elephant seals for photos! Remember: The elephant seals are (very large!) wild animals, and should be treated as such.
